"Catálogo Internacional de Libros de Texto" - Conference in Mexico City
The Georg Eckert Institute had been asked to speak at the event about its progress in the fields of digitalisation, digital humanities and the development of new standards of cataloguing. The Institute’s presentation placed particular emphasis on the International TextbookCat, which gave rise to keen interest among the audience; this academic search tool will soon incorporate a number of new textbook catalogues, representing another milestone on its path to internationalisation.
Anke Hertling represented the GEI’s research library with presentations on digitalisation and GEI-Digital, while Ernesto de Luca and Christian Scheel told their audience about the Children and their World project and the International TextbookCat. Eckhardt Fuchs and Ernesto de Luca concluded the round of presentations from the Institute with a talk on their vision of what textbook research might be like in the future and ways in which the catalogues presented at the conference might work together even more efficiently within a research network.
We would like to extend our thanks to the Cinvestav and particularly to Eugenia Roldán for a highly successful conference.
