New Series: "Eckert. Expertise"
The new series, "Eckert. Expertise" aims to be a forum for the presentation, documentation and discussion of important research results. Developed on the foundation of academic research, the series also wishes to address decision makers in (education) policy, pedagogy and an interested public. The words best used to describe the new format are: topicality – research orientation – practical relevance.
The series’ focus is on current social issues. The first volume in the series will be the "German-Polish Recommendations", which are the conceptual foundation for the joint German-Polish history textbook. The aim of the project is to create an identical, curricular conform textbook, differing only in language. The textbook will be for Sekundar Stufe I and will address key questions of European and global history from a German- Polish perspective. This will allow a more in-depth scholarly dialogue on historical subjects; and for both sides the classroom therefore becomes the place where the historical experiences of the neighbouring country are presented.
"Eckert. Expertise" will complement and extend the GEI’s publication formats. Other scholarly print media developed by the Eckert Institute are "Eckert. Die Schriftenreihe" in which exemplary works from the area of educational media research are published and the institute’s journal JEMMS (the Journal of Educational Media, Memory and Society) which is concerned with a wide range of cultural issues as well as providing a forum for results from educational media research. The digital versions are available on Edumeres.net.
"Eckert. Das Bulletin" is a bi-annual brochure in which the institute presents itself and its work.
We also publish an annual report.
