Deputy Head

Jessica Drechsler is deputy head of the Information Centre for Educational Media at the Leibniz Institute for Educational Media | Georg Eckert Institute (GEI) and is head of the information services team, which is responsible for the infrastructure of the Institute’s online services.

She studied for a BA in library and information management and then for a master’s in information science and management at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences. During her studies she specialised in web information retrieval, usability of information services and information technology.

Jessica Drechsler has worked at the Georg Eckert Institute since 2011. Initially she assisted the library team on the DFG project: Funding for Outstanding Research. Her tasks within that project encompassed the technical construction and content design of a digital Curricula Workstation.

As a member of the IT staff in the department Digital Information and Research Infrastructures (DIRI) from 2012 to 2015, she was responsible for digital library applications and the Institute’s library systems.

Between 2013 and 2022 she was deputy head of the DIRI department.

Since November 2014 Jessica Drechsler has been responsible for the coordination of information services.
