Dr Tobias Conradi
Dr. Tobias Conradi is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department Media Transformation and works for the Leibniz ScienceCampus - Postdigital Participation - Braunschweig. He leads the project "Played Problems - 'Decisions' as a Category of Knowledge in Post-Digital Milieus and Serious Games". Here he investigates the use of serious games as educational media, especially in the context of promoting awareness and mindfulness regarding 'fake news' and climate change.
As senior research associate he works in the SNSF-funded research project "Interactive Documentations" at HSLU Lucerne Design Film Art. He was scientific coordinator in the SFB 1187 "Media of Cooperation" (University of Siegen) and Max Kade Distinguished Visiting Professor at the University of Cincinnati. After completing his doctorate on the representation of crisis and disaster events in the DFG Research Training Group "Automatisms" at the University of Paderborn, he was a research assistant at the University of Vienna, the HBK Braunschweig, the University of Paderborn and a postdoc at the Brandenburg Center for Media Studies in Potsdam.
His research focuses on discourse theory and analysis, narratives of reality, politics of representation and the relationship between crisis, critique and decision.
