Isabelle Bosch: „Bravo italiano e cattivo tedesco?: Darstellung der nationalsozialistischen und faschistischen Diktaturen in italienischen Schulgeschichtsbüchern.“
Eckert. Beiträge 2 (2016). urn:nbn:de:0220-2016-0055.
This paper explores the depiction of fascism and National Socialism in Italian school history textbooks over five decades: from the 1950s to the 2000s. The portrayal of the Italian and German dictatorships is examined against the background of political and social developments in Italy. The epistemological interest lies in this phase of Italian and German history, which still provokes contentious discussion and still considerably influences Italy’s national identity. School history textbooks are defined in this context as contributors to and a reflection of the national self-image and signify the shift that has taken place in recent years towards a more discriminating approach to national history.
