The Georg Eckert Institute's Journal Series Redesigned
"Eckert. The Journal Series. Studies on International Educational Media Research," the newly redesigned GEI journal series, presents educational media research findings within their socio-cultural context from systematic, historical and comparative perspectives. The Series concentrates in particular on patterns of memory, varying concepts of identification and interpretation codes as they are construed, conveyed or strengthened through educational media, as well as on differences in perception, tensions and conflicts that are reflected in or inflamed by these media.
The Series continues established traditions of international textbook research while at the same time opening to new research topics, questions and methods. With its German and English language monographs and anthologies, the series addresses an international audience and diverse disciplines and fields within the cultural and social sciences and the humanities. Discourse, text and content-analysis based contributions are equally as welcome as theoretical essays and empirical examinations on the anchorage and effects of educational media in specific societal contexts.
“Eckert. The Research Prize: Endowed through the Georg Westermann Publishing House, Braunschweig” will be awarded every two years for groundbreaking research. The award is endowed with 5000 euro.
