Otto-Bennemann-Lecture
From textbooks to reels: harnessing the power of educational media and AI to teach about democracy and human rights in deeply divided societies
The aim of this project is to synthesise the potential of Generative AI with the allure of Instagram reels in order to design and create a captivating series of educational media aimed at students of deeply divided societies. The content of these reels will delve into controversial issues that affect deeply divided societies such as historical narratives and the actual methodology of teaching about the past as a contested issue itself. It will also engage with material from civics textbooks crafting them in a way that is appealing, particularly for conflict countries were civics is underemphasised as a subject.
