Nicola Watson joined the Georg Eckert Institute in September 2012 as a translator and editor. She is an authorised translator and sworn interpreter for English and German and holds the CIOL Diploma in Translation.

From 1996 to 2000 Nicola Watson studied German, Spanish and European Business at Leeds Metropolitan University. Upon completion of her studies she moved to Braunschweig where she worked as a purchaser and later as a technical foreign language correspondent. She was a freelance translator and interpreter for a number of years before joining the GEI.

Nicola Watson is responsible for translating and editing diverse English-language texts at the GEI; from the website and administrative documents and correspondence to academic papers and publications. She also coordinates the Policy Briefs and is responsible for online publications such as Eckert.Dossiers and Eckert.Beiträge.
