Mohammad Irfani joined the Knowledge in Transition department at the Leibniz Institute for Educational Media | Georg Eckert Institute in June 2022. He works under the project entitled “Writing the nation in Afghanistan. A comparison of school textbooks for history and patriotism (2001-2021).
After earning his BA degree in Sociology at Avicenna University in Kabul, he started working as researcher at Afghan Institute for Strategic Studies. He completed a master's degree in IR - Security and Politics at OSCE academy. In 2020 he joined the the Institute of War and Peace studies. He has previously worked with various local and international media organisations.
